This is a Dave Parro Game used Washington Capitals #30 Sandow SK Dureen Knit size 52 Home White Jersey. Dave would play his Junior hockey in his home town of Saskatoon, Sask. and play for the Saskatoon Olympics and Blades.He would then be drafted in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft by the Boston Bruins in round 2 & 34th Overall being the first goalie chosen in the draft.After 2 seasons with Bostons AHL Rochester Americans he would be selected by Quebec in the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft and traded to Washington. In his first season with the Caps he would play for the Hershey Bears/ AHL and lead the Bears to a Calder Cup Championship in 1979/80. His next season he would go unbeaten in 4 of his first six games with the Caps and set a club record with the longest consecutive shutout record of 119 minutes. Dave would end his NHL career in 1984 after 4 seasons with the Caps and go on to play 3 more seasons in the minor pros. This jersey would be used in the Caps training camp during his first season in 1980 when they played in Sweden for the Daily Mail Cup and would win that tournament against the Minnesota North Stars and two Swedish teams DIF & AIK. These jerseys were also used for team pictures and were the back up set for the CCM Maska regular season jerseys and did not see much game use.
