This 1950's - '60s mohair bunny features plays a pretty tinkling version of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail".

He's had a long life of full of play and love, but is still fully intact and operational. A collector could undoubtably make him look good-as-new by cleaning his formerly white fur and restoring his tail (assuming he originally had one!).

HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL":
A song written by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins in 1949 and first recorded by Melvin Shiner in 1950. The lyrics tell a simple story of the Easter Bunny delivering baskets fillled with candy, eggs, and flowers. It

VERY GOOD. All original & structurally sound. Seams are strong
&
stuffing is firm. Gray mohair is in excellent shape & his
orange plastic eyes are secure. The silver metal winding key works as it should. The music probably plays more slowly now than when it was new. It is easily recognized as "Here Comes Peter Cottontail." It plays a longer segment than similar toys that often repeat just a short part of a song's refrain. The notes have a tinkling quality, but if you listen closely there is a dim, but repetitious
clunk
in the mix. Half of the orig. fabric tag has frayed off -magnified photos of what's still visible are provided. The bunny's
lined ears & the underside of his body, once ivory white, have darkened from age & handling. They could brighten up significantly with proper cleaning -best left for the collector-expert. It has no tail and a faint musty smell, but absolutely NO
spots, stains, tears, holes, or evidence of repair.
