Vintage Marx Steam Shovel Pressed Steel Toy, Absolutely Near Mint Condition

This vintage orange Marx Steam Shovel is in near mint condition. (I say that based on the other steam shovels I viewed on eBay.) There is some wear visible at the joint where the shovel meets the supporting arm (shown in photo). I estimate this was made about 1960/ 1970. Marx stopped making toys in the late 70’s. The maker’s name (MARX) is impressed inside a circle on the undercarriage of the track unit; the toy’s patent number (U. S. PAT. 2,812,869) is impressed on the underside of the cab. It is a must-have for collectors of construction equipment toys. Made of pressed steel material, this toy is durable and built to last.
