DESCRIPTION:
Estate-fresh, new to the marketplace and yes, the lion still walks and talks, I mean growls. It has a
permanent side wind-up tin key
and a
paint decorated polymer face.
The cloth covered body is a
soft, plush fabric
with a
soft, longer hair mane,
that's slightly matted and somewhat reduced due to previous handling by young, eager users. This

wind up mechanical lion, is on four ribbed plastic wheels, much like a Trojan horse, that allow it to flex and move its front and hind legs back and forth in a graduated motion, causing it to lurch, walk and advance forward. This movement is still active and available, if somewhat reduced due to its age and the fact that it hasn't been played with or used for decades. The decorated face is without any damage and the plush fabric body only has a few worn spots but no tears or seam rips. The key wind-up mechanism has no irregularities and the lion growls and walks, prowling menacingly forward. Often these vintage plush fabric covered mechanical walking toys are seized, stained or abused. This one by and large, escaped the hardwood floors and rough, often tortuous play of children of the
post-WWII
