DeCaprio's work has been shown at the National Academy Galleries in New York and is in the collection of the U.S. Navy, several colleges, many businesses and homes. She has been listed in "Who's Who in American Art" and "World Who's Who of Women." Winner and participant in many Art Shows across Florida and the Nation. She mastered many mediums working in oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, pencil, pen and ink drawings, and photography. Member of the Petticoat Painters - The Petticoat Painters is one of the oldest, continuously exhibiting women's art groups in the United States. The group was formed in 1953 to showcase the talents of female artists at a time when women had trouble getting their work exhibited. Over the years Alice’s artistic interests moved from Expression- ism to realistic renderings of carousals. On her many painting trips to the South of France Alice started collecting carousal animals. Country carousals in Provence tended to be made up of small and domestic animals rather than the large horses on American and Parisian carousals. It was a natural progression from carousals to the circus. Once in Sarasota, Alice made friends with all of the performers in the Ringling Circus. She was commissioned by the Smithsonian to make small brass replicas of carousal animals and commissioned by Ringling Museum to design circus coloring books.
