  • Condition: This toy comprises a piano and four mice, a conductor, a drummer, a pianist, and a dancer, all of which are present and in nice condition (see photos to assess condition of the lithography). The windup mechanism works beautifully as described in "Action" below. The only flaw that I see is that the back of the piano looks to have been burnished (see photo)

    Description

    Topic:
Marx Merrymakers tin wind-up toy comprising a piano and 4 mice; a conductor sitting on the top of the upright piano, one pianist, a dancer, and a drummer.
    Action:
Move Start/Stop switch to Stop position, and use the built in key to wind the toy, then move the switch to Start and watch all the action. Take your time because it runs a remarkably long time considering the action of the 4 mice.  The conductor sits atop the piano and raises and lowers the baton while raising and lowering its head; the pianist raises and lowers both hands to play the piano while turning its head back back and forth to see the audience; the dancer's hands and feet move in rhythm as it rotates back and forth; the drummer plays the drum with both hands and head goes up and down
    Assembled Size:
9 inches wide, 9-1/2 inches high, and 5 inches deep
