Work of the French painter and illustrator Pierre Eugène Duteurtre known as DUT (1911-1989).
Part of a large collection of drawings by the French artist that we have recently purchased and that you can find in our shop. These are most likely works made at a young age as exercises and studies.
Short biography of the artist:
Pierre Eugène Duteurtre known as DUT was born in 1911 in Deuil-la-Barre (Val-d'Oise, France), he was a French cartoonist and painter who began his career in 1930 at the Société parisienne d'édition (SPE), in 1947 to work at the Marijac publishing house. After a long and successful career, in 1968 he abandoned comics to devote himself exclusively to painting. He died in 1989 in the Netherlands.
