Jean-Michel Charlier was among the "founding fathers" of the Silver Age of  Franco-Belgian comics, which began in the late 1940's-early 1950's.  Among those undisputed masters are Franquin, Jife, And Morris.Jean-Michele collaborated with artist Victor Hubinon from 1945-1959. The two men were united by the same passion for comics and flying.  Together they created many albums of work together.  He also worked with Gerald Forton, Albert Uderzo, Michel Tanguy, and Jean Girard.In 1963, Charlier teamed up with artist Jean Giraud to create a new western series, first entitled Fort Navajo, but became known as Blueberry after protagonist Lieutenant Blueberry.
