Biography
Leonard Augustus Pownall (fl.1897-1913) was a painter and stained glass artist. He is known to have exhibited 17 works at the Royal Academy from 1897 to 1913. From c.1911 he lived in Falmouth, where he had moved to No. 8, Park Terrace from Northwood, Middlesex. Pownall designed the stained glass windows at All Saints Parish Church, Falmouth to consecrate the new Chancel stained glass window. Few of the congregation would have been aware that this was the first window to have been completely designed and made in Cornwall. His design was ambitious and immediately accepted by the church at a cost of £530, making it one of the most expensive windows in Cornwall, equal in price to the rose windows of the Cathedral in Truro.

We accept payment via Paypal, credit or debit card.
All our artworks are packaged to a very high standard, using protective cellophane wallets, hardboard backing, and bubble wrap. Framed pictures are packed into custom made cartons. Some works on paper are shipped in extra-thick postage tubes when this is the safest method of transport.
Glass is usually removed from frames prior to shipping as despite our best effort, carriers manage to break the glass and often the broken glass damages the artwork.
