    Description

    'Out of Nothing, Something',
    1994
    Charcoal on Arches cover roll
This drawing is also part of a series I was working on just before completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Oklahoma State University in 1993.  The subject matter is highly informed by the existential philosophers I had been reading at the time.  In particular, Nietzsche, Kierkegard and Heidegger had the strongest influences on me.  The egg forms symbolize the potential for growth of a variety of individuals who are
'extended' over Heidegger's 'vast nothingness of all space and time.'
